Sheriff Brian Pixley was elected to serve as the 33rd Sheriff of Columbia County in November of 2018 and began his first term of office in January 2019. He was re-elected by the voters and started his second term as sheriff in January 2023. Sheriff Pixley’s law enforcement career began in 2003 as a Corrections Deputy at the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. He worked in that capacity until he was hired as a Patrol Officer for the city of Scappoose in 2006. In August 2010, Sheriff Pixley returned to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy and has since served as a Patrol Deputy, Marine Deputy, and as Sergeant and Lieutenant in both the Corrections and Patrol divisions.
Sheriff Pixley maintains dual certification in Patrol and Corrections and holds his Executive level certification in both disciplines. He is a graduate of the Oregon Executive Development Institute as well as OSSA’s Command College. Sheriff Pixley has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Oregon University and an Associates Degree in Corrections from Clackamas Community College.
Sheriff Pixley resides in Scappoose, Oregon with his wife, Annette. They have been married since September 1994 and have three grown children.
